Dear All:

I tried connecting my BS 9000 to a Beocenter 9300 (circa 1998) with a powerlink cable.  However, the female end of the Aux has only 7 holes while the male end has eight pins.  

A closer look, revealed that the '8th' hole at the Aux position has a little piece of plastic covering it on both the BS 9000 and BC 9300.  Do I need a different cable from B&O to connect to Aux?  Or can I just remove the plastic cover of the female end or break the '8th' pin?  

 

Your help is greatly appreciated.

You should only need 5 pin DIN to 5 pin DIN cable. As the BS9000 will not have any Datlink capability. This will allow you to listen to whatever is playing on one to be heard on the other by pressing Aux.

You will need a 7 pin din cable for this. I have no idea if it will actually work. What are you trying to achive with this setup?

All that I am trying to do is use the BC 9300 to play a tape through the speakers that are attached to the BS 9000.  I have two extra powerlink cables and was hoping that I could use one to connect to the aux in each component.  

Do I need to buy another cable?

Yes you will need another cable. You won't be able to use a Powerlink cable. All you will neeed is a 5 pin DIN to 5 Pin DIN, then you will be able to do what you want. Used to do something similar myself where I had a Beomaster 2000 connected to my PC which was in one room. This was connected to a Beocenter 9000 in the living room. This allowed me to listen to alll my music stored on the PC in the Living room when I wanted too.

Main difference is you don`t have a BS 7000 but a BC 9300.

You can listen to whatever is activated on the BC 9300 by pressing A.AUX on the BS 9000.

would you please expand on how you manage to connect your PC to your B&O?  I have an iMac and would like to do something similar: iMac to BC 9300.  Do I need the Beoport or is it player?

You can connect your computers output to TV/Aux input. You need pin 3 and 5 left/right and pin 2 ground. A 7- or 5 pin plug will do it.

Hi!

I use Apple´s airport express and airtunes for this purpose so that I can have my mac anywhere in the house and transfer music wirelessly to my bc9000. Actually almost wirelessly  as you need to have miniplug to 5-pin din cable from the airport express to the aux-input of the system. Works great
