Dvd player reccommended for BV CRT

Hi! I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the picture performance for a B&o crt TV, of the DVD1 compared to a non b&o player such as a denon.

Is DVD1 worth 295 pounds? Cheers

    Depends what you are after!

In terms of interoperability with datalink etc.  the DVD1 is the better buy, and it's a B&O!

In terms of quality it is likely to be outclassed by a good quality modern player in that price bracket, or even one selling for a good deal less than that. The DVD1 isn't really worth £295 when you consider the alternatives.

Agree with Simon but if you value using the B&O remote rather than a cheap plastic thing with lots of tiny buttons then go for it!

Earlier versions can be a bit flakey with recordable discs but otherwise sound and picture quality is very good. I would get one of the later versions 2004 on. £295 is a bit steep but when you consider the original price it's not bad. I would only pay this for one with the later mech.

Oh thanks, That helps me decide!

Yes well i'm using a basic Philips DVD recorder at the moment and i fear i'm missing out on the picture and sound that my setup is capable of! I think it would be alot wiser to go with the acclaimed Denon, also much cheaper. Look, i don't use a remote with DVD's, as all you have to do is press play and your readdy to sit back and enjoy the show.

Regarding the coaxial digital connection to the BV3 from the DVD player, does it matter what cable is used? I'm a cable skeptic, but still, i don't want to miss out on getting the most out of the BeoLabs...
