Vintage BeoMaster 900 RG deluxe - possibly

    Hello,

could anybody advise me.  I have got an old B&O record player.  Im not sure what model it is but it looks like a Beomaster 900RG Deluxe.

Could anyone confirm that from the images below.  The top image is the actual player I have.

My question is... how much is this thing worth if I wanted to sell it.  What's the lowest I should let it go for. Also, where can I get a stylus for it?

    thanks!

Yes - that's a Beomaster 900 RG Deluxe alright. Looks like teak finish. Nice set - I have one myself!

Edit - I sold one on eBay recently that I had repolished and generally cleaned up. It was in rosewood (which in my mind looks less forgiving in contemporary interiors, so therefore is probably less in terms of value than the teak ones) and I got something like £110 for it. That was a good deal for me though, believe me, as I've seen these sell for much less before! It really depends on the quality of the finish and how good your listing is - bad ones are not worth the petrol to collect in many people's opinion. The real collectable ones are the RG Compacts, as the styling is more contemporary, and you can really push them as sideboards should you list on eBay. One of these sold recently on eBay, and it was close to £200.

Looks like it to me too.  I've just bought one for 120 EUR which was immaculate and also included the Beocord 200 and all associated documents including schematics/manuals etc.  I travelled 6 hours each way for it and still think it was worthwhile.  Along the back outside panel there should be a paper identification label with model number etc on it.  The last post contained a link to a fantastic listing - beautifully put together.  That price seems to be about right at the moment.

As for the stylus question - eBay.  They come around quite often but buyer beware!.

It's a lovely piece of furniture.  Only sell it if you have to.

Dave's quite right - look on the back for the plate with the model number. Also, be aware that they don't travel well - the legs are like matchsticks.

Thanks for your kind words on my listing Dave. I had a good day so got the RG outside to show the Rosewood off to full effect. Such a shame when you see eBay listings where the RG is shot in poor light in what invariably turns out to be an elderly person's front room - it just doesn't pull people in who might want one of these lovely pieces in their own homes. You got a good bargain - the Beocord must be worth 120 Euros alone!

It was a bargain.  The legs are a bit feable but they do come off via 4 bolts.  Mine fit in the back of the car with the rear seats folded and well padded with quilts, towels and pillows.

Ah - the legs on mine were held in place with dowel rods and glue, not bolts. I know because I had to re-attach one when it fell off in transit!
