    Today is the longest day of the year in this hemisphere, as I'm sure you know.
    I lived for ten years in the Shetland Isles, where it doesn't go properly dark tonight.
    In Shetland, the word for the longest day is Simmer Dim and is celebrated.
    Just thought you'd like to see a live webcam from Lerwick town center, the Market Cross.

    A good friend of mine lived in Shetland for a number of years, am I had the opportunity to visit him many times ... its an extraordinary place ... and the Valhalla Brewery brews a nice pint :)
