    General Questions Regarding BeoCenter 7700

    Hi everybody,

I'm new to BeoWorld and this is my first post. I am also new to the world of buying vintage Bang & Olufsen and am wanting to ask some general advice from BeoWorld forum members.

I live in Melbourne, Australia and have been searching everywhere for a Beocenter 7700 with Beovox S 80.2 speakers - preferably in mint working condition! (is that asking too much?!)

I am curious as to what I should expect to pay for such a unit? I've seen eBay prices vary from as low as $50 USD up to nearly $1700 USD and every price in between! Personally I know a guy who bought a Beocenter 7700 locally here in Melbourne for $1400 AUD (Beovox S 80.2 speakers included in that price and all in immaculate working condition)... are these prices reasonable?

Do any Aussie BeoWorld members know of good places in Australia to buy vintage B&O? Where are the best places in Melbourne to get vintage B&O audio equipment refurbished and restored?

Can I buy a Beocenter 7700 from the United States? Will it work here in Oz? What adjustments would I have to make regarding voltage?

Final question! What is the best stylus for a Beocenter 7700?

Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,

    Simon

Re: General Questions Regarding BeoCenter 7700

I'd buy a UK one - it will be the correct voltage - 220V. Also likely to be cheaper. They sell for about £100 -£200 in the UK but can be a lot cheaper. I would use an SMMC4 as the cartridge. One of the UK B&O dealers might be able to help.

    Welcome to Beoworld!
