In a previous thread Peter mentioned the BeoPC as what I needed to tie by Tape2 input on my BC9300 to my iTunes world, so I finally got one and hooked it all up and it works great!
I previously had my Tape2 input connected with airport express which is OK but there is no control. Now I can use my remotes (Beo4 or 1000) anywhere in the house (I have two BL3500s and a CX50/Cona setup in various rooms as well as the BC9300/BL8000 in living room) and pull up music from my iTunes. (It conveniently works out on the Beo4 I call up net music.) The nice thing as is typical with the beocenter is if I'm listening to music and switch to TV, it automatically stops iTunes just like it would if it had been playing radio, tape or CD. Likewise when I come back to N.Music, it picks up where it left off. If I'm not running iTunes on my mac (iMac G5 w/10.5.2), it will start it up for me which is nice. I don't know what you can get with Beoport as far as song titles go but this doesn't do that, but if I leave my iTunes in cover flow and set it to full screen mode the song information appears in a large font you can see across the room. The response time between hitting "next" on the remote and the screen updating seems nearly instantaneous.
Folks with older systems that can't use Beoport I think this is a well engineered alternative that brings together classic B&O systems with the digital music world.
