Please Help with a CD5500 problem

I am a relative newcomer to the ranks of B&O owners, and have started my collection by buying a pre-owned 5500 system.

Everything works as it should except the CD player which works for about 15 minutes (from cold) and then cuts out and switches off. Attempts to restart it via the remote have no effect, but if I switch everything off for a while and then on again, it works for a short period.

I suspect some sort of overheating problem.

    Can anyone help with advice?

Also, any ideas of any decent repair facilities in the North East of England?

    Many thanks

    Dougie Melville

Fear not Dougie, there are wizards and alchemists here that can solve your problem - not least Dillen. I'm sure he will visit this post eventually but if you're impatient you can PM him.

Not sure of any really handy folks in the NE, dealers may tend to tell you it's old and the laser is knackered etc but folk here can resurrect far lesser CD players from the ashesWink

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.
