    Beovision 6 question

    Hi all

Hopefully you can give me some advise / thoughts on a picture “issue” I have with my beovision 6 26.

When the picture of a programme scans vertically (up or down) you can see horizontal lines in the picture. I would describe them as slightly different shading of the brightness that remain static in position as the picture/colours scans vertically. Each one is probably about 5 cm wide and alternate light then normal then light etc. These are faint but distracting and not what I expected from a B&O tv.

The picture settings are as out of the box, e.g. average colour, contrast and sharpness.

This happens whether via DTV or sky+ source (with a good quality scart lead).

For those with the same tv is this the norm and just a result of the lcd screen used by B&O or potentially a fault?

For info the beovision 6 is the last beovision 6 version before the beocenter launch but was bought last month from B&O Hampstead new in the box with latest software etc. for example the DTV software is dated 2008.

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated

    Thanks Christian

    Christian,

I think we first need to be sure that you really do have a Mark II Beovision 6. Can you please confirm the 4 digit "Type" number found on teh label at the back.

    Regards Keith....

    Hi,

The sticker behind the speaker cover(couldnt' see one on the back) states type is 9272.

Hope that is the latest version before the beocenter 6!

    Thanks

    Re: Beovision 6 question

    Christian,

Yes it is a Mark II version which was produced until Sept 2006 and was the last version.

The reason I asked is because I am aware that on the Mark I there were some problems with some of the LCD screens.

Are the bands down the screen across the whole screen or just a part of it ?

    Regards Keith....

    Re: Beovision 6 question

The bands run all the way from the left to right and are more visible when darker colours are on the screen.

Also forget to mention, very occasionally, when you change source the picture will flicker / shake v lightly before stopping.

(To me it does look like there is a fault but have been away and forget to call B&O until my return tonight)

    Thanks

    Christian

    Christian,

Based on your subsequent information I think you need to get your dealer to come and look at the Beovision 6 for you because there does appear to be a fault with your unit.

    Regards Keith....

    Keith, thanks for your help.

Have spoken to the dealer and the dealers repair person and a replacement panel is on order

    Thanks again for the comments
