    Beovox speaker problem

I just got a pair of beovox s40's. I just hooked them up and the woofer isnt working on one of the speakers. when i first got them, i took off the screens to make sure nothing was rotted or cracked. i did notice that the two woofers looked different which leads me to believe that one was replaced at some point. does anyone have any idea where to start trouble shooting?

You've got some of the better 2-way speakers.

The correct woofer for the Beovox S40 has AD 80652/W4 stamped at the magnet and a very slim roll cone surround.

it seems that the one that isnt working is the replacement. the roll cone surround is much thicker. any ideas?

Hmmm. I may have one in stock but I don't dare to think of the shipping cost from Denmark.

the speaker itself looks fine so my suspicion is that there is a wiring/electrical problem somewhere. are other speakers compatible with the s40's or do they need to be original?

i was tinkering last night and i realized that i could hear some sound coming out of the woofer but it was very faint. if i dont have my ear next to it, i cant hear it.

Swap the woofers to see if the problem follows the driver or the rest of the speaker.
