    Lab 7-1 fret

    How does the speaker fret come off , can't live with it silver , going to have it powder coated black but can't do that still fixed ? I can get a black replacement but thought I try powder coat first .

    Very tricky, but it slides off sideways.

    I know people will cringe, but if we cant move ours we just bounce the end of the speaker gently on the carpet!!  This starts the grille 'slide off' and makes it pretty easy to remove.

    Try not to be too rough with the grille. Honestly, if you even look at them in a strange manner they dent!!

    Thanks Lee . I had a horrible feeling they might have started to use double sided tape again , as you say it takes a bit to get it started and only slides off in one direction , quite simple now I know how its fixed , pity the didn't use a similar method on the Penta's as they are a bit of a pig to do .
