    2 Beocenter 4600 sets

I have this set which has a turntable that won't play correctly. You can press the speed control knob and choose the 45 or 33, but it won't hold and the arm won't rise and move to the correct spot and lower and play the record as normally. When I press the 33 or 45 spot on the control pad on the turntable it does not move. I have to press the stop or pause spots and the turntable turns, the arm lifts and drops on the correct part of the spinning surface, but the motor stops. I have to press the stop again for it to raise and go back to the original wait position. I think there is something wrong with either my control pad mechanism underneath it or the mass of gears spinning around and levers connectiing to the wrong spot that is making it work wrongly. Any clues whats really wrong with it and how can I correct it? I think this happenned when I was trying to loosen the arm as it was stuck/not raising or lowering slowly and I was told by members that I had to loosen a piston and re-oil it for the lowering mechanism to work again. In the whole process, I must have undone some of the bits below and have not put it back in the right order or back into the correct position is all I can say. I hope that someone here can email to me some pictures of exactly the position of all the gears and levers at the waiting points of the arm, at the position where it is located on 45 and 33 as well as when it is off. Also pictures of the selector mechanism from below at these points will also help me fix it once and for all. Please help as I have not been able to work it for the past year! My other 4600 bothers me because the tuning wire inside has burst and I can't get it together again. The wire/cable has burst as the whole mechanism seized up and I was a bit too hasty turning it. It now needs a new cable. The whole tuner mechanism seems to be jammed and this is the cause of the jammed tuner system, not the other parts like pulleys, etc. don't know why. The cable had also ran off the tuning knob's holder inside. The cassette deck is as usual dead and the motor won't turn or hum at all. I have changed the fuse, but its still dead. Dead motor? Short circuited? The motor is not black and does not look like its burnt out. Otherwise I think the other parts still work.  The radio still works with the manual presets as an alternative to the main tuner and the amplifier still works too as usual. What can I do with this one? Thanks again and cheers, John.
