Two Way Remotes: All The Same Protocol?

I was wondering if all of the B&O two-way remotes were all using the same protocol - for example, would a MCP 5000 (etc.) work with a BC 9500 or is the BL 5000 the only one?

As I understand it, the MCP 5000 and the MCP 5500 for example are different. Also, if I understand correctly and MCP 5500 cannot control a BC 9500. I believe BL 5000 and BL 7000 use the same protocol, and they can both control the BC 9500. Did you by any chance get the 9500 off Ebay (US) last night?

I did get the BC 9500 from eBay, but won it on Sunday. I use the same user name on eBay as here.

The MCP range do work slightly differently and I would not use a MCP with the 9500. The MCP5000 will not work at all as it uses completely different codes. The MCP5500 has some limited function but no effective 2 way . You need a Beolink 5000 or preferably a Beolink 7000!

A new Beolink 5000 should still be available from your local dealer whereas a (second-hand) Beolink 7000 would be more difficult to obtain although would look pretty on your coffee table.

Go for the 5000... always my favourite!
