I just got my Beocenter 9300 bought used. It's service tag reads:

type 2516 sw1.4
mcmlxxxVI

The second line is a year 1986.  According to info on the net they were not produced in this year, or am I wrong ??

Any ideas why is that ?

That's the year the actual design was released, not the year of manufacture.

If you give me the first 4 digits of the serial number - i will give you an indictation of it's real age!

Spot on by Graham, although with such high third and fourth numbers it was likely to have been sold by a dealer in early 2000.

God - what an anorak i am!  I'm sure a dealer's curiosity after reading this will get them on the system checking, and they may be able to fill us in!!

We got it together with speakers made by "ITT". Anybody knows this manufacturer ? Speakers seem to be well aged   They're made in Denmark.
