I am considering changing the placement of my B&O equipment and I am trying to source pictures of a BV7-40 wall mounted without success so far. It seems that because of its curved back its going to stick out at least 10 inches and that's before its even added to the wall bracket that tilts it. The 7-40 is not the right TV to choose if you want a flat against the wall solution I guess. Any thoughts and pictures appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Simon, do you really want to wall mount the BV7-40? It's really heavy. I'd spend my time worrying the wall and/or mount wouldn't hold.

I might get a BV4 instead which is a flatter fit and ofcourse plasma. Playing around with ideas at the moment. How is yours set up?

Not the BV7-40!! Indeed, the BV7-32 was heavy enough. It took two people to carry my BV7-40 in to my flat - it's both too large for one person to carry and too heavy. According to the B&O specs the BV7-40 is 45Kg, which excludes the 7.2 speaker! I think that's around 15Kg, so it's about 60Kg in total. I know some adults that heavy ;)

Mine is on the floor stand. There's no way I'd put that on the wall. I always wanted a wall-mounted TV, but I'm in rented accommodation an the landlords (who are fairly flexible) wouldn't allow even a flat panel to be wall-mounted. I spent months looking at a BV4-50/BS3 combination, but I had to dismiss.

The new BV4-50 is a good but expensive option. However, perhaps you ought to look for a preloved BV4-42? Or Panasonic plasma + BS3?

I'll stick with B&O whatever I choose. Even though I know many other manufacturers offers better sets. Its the design concept I buy into. Its all going to come down to pricing but I'll see. Will keep you posted.

Yep, the 'problem' with the BS3+BV4 combo is that it needs a centre speaker, stereo speakers and a DVD player. It can be costly, although B&O offered me a much better trade-in deal from my old BV7-32 (to the BS3+BV4, speaker combo) than they did for the BV7-40.

My ideal setup would always have been BV4, BS3, BC2, BL9's. Not sure about the centre, although the new BL10 might be the solution?

Still a work in progress as I need a new cabinet but should give you an idea.

 It's on the B&O motorised bracket and has been built out from the wall slightly so the front of the TV is level with the outside of the alcove, also allows more turn into the room with the 7-2 speaker.

 Also for info, it's on a stud wall.  The wooden block used to give a bit more distance from the wall is attached to the vertical stud and also using some heavy duty plasterboard anchors.  The bracket is then attached to the block and through to the stud using long screws, and through the block to some more heavy duty plasterboard anchors.  I could swing off it if I wanted, so with the right fixings and a bit of thought any wall will take the weight.

Today I mounted my BV7-40 with the STB-brackets (BV7-40 close) as the B&O bracket was to far away from the wall and to expensive for me. The only disadvantage is that the TV is in a fixed position.

Mounting the tv was not really a problem when you use the service tool from STB-brackets. The service itself from STB-brackets is very good. Fast delivery, good quality product.

 The BV7 and BL7 uses two different brackets

Anymore photos of people's wall mounted set ups is appreciated, even if not a BV7. Thanks also for the information about STB which may be a consideration if I decide to make any changes to my exisiting setup.

Hi Mikey,

in case your a looking for a way to hide the cables, your dealer can get you what is called a "Wall Profile", an aluminium cable cover that matches the B&O silver very well. I think they sold that initially for the BS9000. It's not expensive, around 30$ or so when I bought mine.
