    ML Connection/Setup question

I have BS9000 connected to BL3500 in the linked room.
I'm adding BeoSystem 1 and to the location of BS9000.
BS1 will be hidden in the closet behind the wall from where BS9000 sits with the remote eye.
From what I understand all I need to have these 3 units to talk to each other via ML is connect them using either ML distributor box or junction box or they can be just spliced together(Correct me if I'm wrong)

For one's who is not familiar with BeoSystem1 I believe in this config BS1 is essentially same as Avant...

    Here are the questions?

    1. What would be the Option Settings on the BS1 and BS9000?
Right now BS9000 is set to Option 1 and BL3500 - Option 6
    2. Can I use IR receiver form BS9000 to to use all TV commands without connecting BS1 IR sensor?

    Thank you

The problem here will be connecting the speakers! I take it that you want them connected to the Beosystem 1 so that you get a surround system. In this case, the BS1 should be Option 2 and the Beosound Option 0. This however will require the IR receiver of the BS1 to be used and in view.

If you do it the other way, the speakers need to be attached to the Beosound which does not have surround sound.

Thank you Peter, it does make perfect sense.

Unless BS-2 in Europe is vastly different from BS-1 in the US...you really HAVE to attach the speakers to the BeoSystem 1, it wants to direct all traffic in its room and always treats the Audio Master as if it were in a different (linked) room.  The biggest problem in trying to use the Bs-9000 to run the speakers w/o the 'eye' is that you will not be able to operate the third-party black boxes (STB, DVD, VCR) in the manner the BS-1 promises to do.

Depending on the age of your BS-9000 it may set itself to option 0 when it finds that there are no speakers plugged into the PL sockets.
