    Beovox S 45-2 resistors

    Hello everybody,

I recently bought a pair of Beovox S 45-2 speakers at some junk sale for $5. I found out that there were some resistors burned (big suprise), and I need to find out which ones these are to be able to replace them. They are burned, as I said, so I can't read the resistance. They are the two resistors connected to the tweeter. Could anyone fill me in on which resistors I need to buy to replace these burned ones? Any help is appreciated.

(I am not a technician, and I'm from the Netherlands, so I hope I explained everything clearly enough for you guys to understand.)

    Thanks!

The one in parallel with the tweeter (R6) should be 8.2 ohms / 3W, and the other in series (R5) is 1 ohm / 3W. Hope the tweeters themselves are OK - these are good speakers, and well worth repairing!

Also - welcome to Beoworld, and happy holidays Smile

Thank you very much for the info. Is there any way I can test if the tweeters themselves are still working?

Happy holidays to you as well!

    Re: Beovox S 45-2 resistors

Measure the coil resistance with a multimeter. If it shows infinite instead of a few ohms (1-8), the coil has probably burned...

But even if it is, don't despair! The 45-2 woofers have a habit of breaking in transport, so some fellow Beoworlder might have spare tweeters looking for a new owner. Since you got the boxes almost for free, it might still be viable to invest in spares.
