Beomaster 901 UK mains issues - help please!

I recently acquired a Beomaster 901 amp and Beocord 900 tape deck from my family, but am unsure of what I need to connect it to the mains.

At the moment the power cable is a 250v, 6amp connector with three parallel pins (Made by 'Masterpiece, England' apparently) with BS5733 written on it. Do I need a step-down converter to get it to 240v? Can I just lop off the plug and fit a standard plug?

We've been without an amp for weeks now and can't take it any longer!! Any help greatly appreciated :)

    Welcome to Beoworld !

The Beomaster 901 has a voltage setting switch underneath.
Make sure to set it to 240 V and you should be home free with a suitable plug on the lead.

The 250V marking on the plug is merely a "max rating".
