    BEOVOX 4700

    Hi!

My name is John and I am located in Essex. I have a real vintage B & O system which I bought new in 1966. Beautiful!

I have a problem with one of the speakers - Beovox 4700 - the bass speaker is faulty: I think the cone has ruptured. Does anyone know where I can source a replacement bass speaker: I have tried B & O direct in the UK, but they are not interested in helping.

If I can't get a replacement, does anyone know of an alternate bass unit which will fill the bill? Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    JohnT

    Welcome to the forum John!

If you send a personal message to martin (username Dillen) he may be able to help you. He is located in Denmark but is an amazing source of parts and information.

Depending on what the problem is, it might be worth giving these people a ring:

They may well be able to repair the faulty drive unit.I have not used them myself but other forum members have and the feedback is very good.

Hi John & welcome to BeoworldSmile

When you say the bass driver has erupted, do you mean the (paper) cone itself or the foam surround which may have disintegrated? If the latter is the case then a fix is available.

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.
