    BL4 floor stands for BL3?

    Afternoon,

I can't remember if I read this on here, but do the BL3 speakers share the same floor stands as the BL4 (and the cables go through the vertical stand pipe)? The reason is that I have my BL3's on the rubber rings and want to put them on floor stands, and have the opportunity of buying discounted BL4 floor stands.

They are very different stands, BL4's can be put on BL3 stands with a special bracket, but BL4 stands are solid, so the cables are exposed. Sad

Maybe they are discounted for a reason? They are hopeless stands!

    Hi moxxey,

In answer to your question, no BeoLab 3 floor stands and BeoLab 4 floor stands are not the same. BeoLab 3 floor stands are obviously designed for the BeoLab 3s (but as Dave has mentioned can also be used for BeoLab 4s with an extra adaptor) and allow all cabling to go through the column of the floor stand. The BeoLab 4 floor stands are different in design and no cabling can go through the floor stand. All wires hang out of the speaker and look awful. This might explain why you've found a discounted pair of BeoLab 4 floor stands, as nobody really wants them. I much prefer the sound of my BeoLab 3s on their floor stands in my particular setup as the sound is more wide-spread within the room. I also really like how they look on the floor stand, so in my opinion it's a win win situation if you get a pair of floor stands for your BeoLab 3s! Let us know if you get a pair and whether you too can notice a difference in the sound.

Thanks Henry, will do. It's strange that the BeoSound 4 stand doesn't enable the cables to go through the vertical pipe though. I might have to get a BC2 stand and an adapter!

I wouldn't recommend BeoSound 4 on a BeoCenter 2 floor stand. I personally don't think this would look good. If it's possible I also like placing my system away from / to one side of my speakers. It feels like I have B&O all around me in the room Stick out tongue and I prefer the look. Although I do not own a BeoSound 4, nor have I ever seen one on the floor stand of a BeoCenter 2! I think the BeoSound 4 looks best sitting on a piece of furniture like a cabinet or a (very secure) shelf.

I strongly agree. The BS4 looks odd on the floorstand. It looks cool on a mantel if you can hide the cables :)

Yep, that's the problem - it's a surprising cable mess behind the BS4, particularly when you add a couple of additional cables for the AUX input (Airport Express). I actually like the BS4 stand, it's just a shame that it doesn't also host the cables.
