    Beosystem 2 help / advice

Anyone out there that can give me a bit of help or advice on this please!

Finally trying to integrate my B&O audio and video bits and looking at using a Beosystem 2 to drive a non B&O LCD panel (Toshiba)

Just so I dont waste people time, i'm aware of the compatability problems about BS2 spitting out 50Hz signal and LCD panel needing 60Hz signal, Iv'e read up on the scaler units CP251F or CP255H that it appears I would need to use to get it working, but I suppose my question is to one of you guys that has done it, is how good is the picture quality when you finally get a picture on screen ? connecting a laptop PC to the PC in on the LCD and setting resolution to 1360 x 768 and the picture is fantastic so can I expect that or just a fuzzy mess ?

Or do I get hold of a BV4 panel ? V expensive. Or a Panasonic Plasma panel 42" or 50" ( anyone know the model number that will work with the RS232 as well) and then give the kids a nice Toshiba TV

Your advice as always would be greatly appreciated

I have a Beosystem 2 connected to Panasonic PW4 which is a older model but works fine, If I was you i would ditch the LCD and get a plasma to go with the beosystem 2,

You could pick up a Panasonic PW5/6/7 & 8 series which will work perfectly with the BS2 & if you want Hi-Def then either the 8 or nine series are hi-def capable with a HDMI/DVI input but only direct to the screen the BS2 only tells the panel to change to another input via RS232.

You will then have a integrated B&O solution & plasma is a whole lot better than LCD.

Re: Beosystem 2 help / advice

Yes, I know deep down that a Panasonic plasma is the answer, but only got the Toshiba 3 months ago so difficult to justify a swap with SWMBO however in a couple of months may be !

With the Panasonic panels the PW refers to a panal with no Tuner etc, just a monitor with a VGA and RS232 input ?

Does anyone know what Panasonic models are closest to B&O BV4 equivalent in the 42" & 50"

Again I ask the question how good is the picture ? using beosystem 2 as the feed to the panel with SKY box feeding into one of the scarts on BS2
