    Beoport question

Today I decided to copy some new CDs into Beoport. The problem is it will not connect to bring up the CD info, album covers etc. I get a window that asks if I want to connect directly or by proxy? All else is working fine with Beoport including Net Radio. Any suggestions?

    Re: Beoport question

You can always use Windows Media Player to rip your CD's. Seems to work faster than Beoport aswell.

If I do as you suggest, how do I get them into Beoport along with album covers?

Anybody have any suggestions about why Beoport is not reading the CD titles and cover art? How to fix it?

    Re: Beoport question

    Hello,

I also use Windows Media player 11 to rip my CDs.

When the CD is ripped, I leave WMP, turn to Net-Music in Beoplayer and make a scan.

The new CD will be integrated in the Net-Music database, including track infos and Artwork.

    Very easy, indeed.

    Have a nice sunday,

    Yann.

    Re: Beoport question

    Razlaw;

CD: Assuming your CD is a new purchase, Copy or Rip your CD to Media Player. It should import the CD album art into Media Player as well. As the CD music and CD art are now recognized as a PC file, the new file should trigger the following:

    1. If you use Media Centre, your new CD music will be found in My Music,  once that program loads. It can be played immediately, or copied as you like.

    2. Selecting Beoplayer, go to:  -> N.Music -> Setup  -> Scan, Your new CD music and CD art will load too. Again, it can be played immediately.

    MP3 Downloads: Exactly the same.

Note: Occasionally the CD or MP3 album art is not found, or desired. You can change or make your own album art by selecting a picture or photo in My Photos, -> right click to Copy, then open the Media Player file and choose on the CD of choice. Right click on the CD, select Paste Album Art, and left click over the album. Your new photo selected will be added to that CD, or Mp3 album in a few seconds

Just keep or scale any photo size down to 800 x 600,  or it may distort.

    Re: Beoport question

Thanks for all of the excellent input. However I still have a basic question. Beoport previously worked flawlessly for me, it copied CDs and loaded cover art etc. Now it will not connect to get the info on CDs. As it worked perfectly before, I do not understand why it will not now connect. It will still copy and Net Radio connects and functions perfectly. Am I missing something here that the solutions are a way around the Beoport problem, not a solution to the problem?  Thanks again!

    Re: Beoport question

Peter has mentioned here before that Beoport itself has it's own operational pecularities.

Ours has locked-up twice while I was working with a large number of high definition graphics, and I know of others that have experiences similar minor problems. I just clicked close on the beoplayer icon in the title bar, waited a few minutes, and clicked to start the program again. No further problems.

I would be curious to know what your music and PC system consists of, and how it is put together. You might run a reconfiguartion,  or unplug the Beoport box and and M-L link box ( if you're using one ) start over, and see if that helps.

    I hope this is helpful.
