    Home theatre without beovision?

I have in my proposed theatre room; BS9000, BL8000,BL2,panasonic plasma tv, decoder box.  I asked my local dealer about the possibility of exploring surround sound by adding 2 BL400s at the back and another BL4000 as the centre speaker.  he said I would have to change to a B&O tv and buy some other equipment.  Does anyone have any other angles as I am very attached to my tv.

Ok, so you have the TV (non B&O), the front/back/center speakers (B&O), the decoder box... what is missing is a dedicated audio/video processor to generate the surround sound and control the whole system. B&O has created 3 products to do this, the current one on sale being the BeoSystem 3.
With these systems, you will be able to control using your Beo4 your tv, dvd player, decoder, CDs... and enjoy surround sound with B&O speakers. They also have a modulator to send the signals to different link rooms having other B&O equipment (like a bedroom tv).

You've been faster than me on the reply Big Smile

Should you add a Beosystem 3 to your set-up. Then you will be able to connect your extra pair of loudspeakers and preserve your plasma TV.

    From B&O :
BeoSystem 3 can be connected to both a projector and a panel monitor at the same time. Often, the projection screen and plasma monitor are not placed on the same wall, and yet the sound stage must match the on-screen experience perfectly.
BeoSystem 3 makes this possible, with outlets for up to 12 loudspeakers and two subwoofers.

Bang & Olufsen’s PowerLink cable connections mean that all speaker ports are neutral. Simply plug in the loudspeakers, and programme the sound stage for the particular screen setup for up to seven loudspeakers and two subwoofers for each viewing situation.

This means it is possible to move a 5.1 digital surround sound stage from one part of the room to another, depending on your seating position and screen setup, simply by using the Beo4 remote control. Or BeoSystem 3 can stage a 7.1 channel surround sound experience, with the option of one or two subwoofers. The extra two channels are created at the rear to fill the “hole in the middle” that can be heard in
    very large rooms.

    hello

You can buy a Home cinema amplifier with preamplifier out, i have a denon 2803.

you connect your front speakers via the  aux entry of the BS9000.

you connect your rear speakers via  the LINE ENTRY ( bl 6000 8000 are ok  for the 4000 i'm not sure)

you take a B&W XTC  speaker for the center, very BEO and nice look, a beo 5  and all is OK.

i'have this kind of system BO + cabasse+ denon + pioneer plasma

I love BO but 7000 euros for a Beosystem 3Sad

DU BEAU, DU BON, DU BO.

Do you already have the Panasonic Plasma in your possession? The Panasonic is a very good choice! B&O uses the professional series Plasma screens from Panasonic. Your dealer knows what type nrs matches best to Beosystem 3!! ( of course the dealer wants to sell B&O TV)

Please let your dealer advise you (or ask the Beoworld buddy’s here)

    Regards, Robert

    archie,

how do you connect the BS9000 (and this way the front speakers) to the home cinema amplifier?

e.g. how do you get 5.1 sound?

    Thanks for the info.
