Now that I've found this forum, thought I'd push my luck...Has anyone had any experience with the CD player on the 9300 failing. Doors open and close fine, all appropriate lights come on for CD, but the disc doesn't spin. Eventually the doors open again, CD in exact position it was placed. Any idea what the problem could be and if it is an easy fix or big trouble take it to the specialist ?

The first thing to try is to clean the laser lens with a cotton bud DAMPED in isopropanol. They often get dusty and the laser refuses to find focus.

If that does not work then I need to know if it is a radial or linear laser?

The first thing it does is look for focus. If not found then no spin.

Look at the laser track in the cd compartment. Radial laser moves on a curved track. Linear laser moves in a straight line running left/right.

The service manual contains a test procedure for the cd system. Your service agent will be able to test it.
