BeoVision 7 - Multiregion DVD player.

    Hi,

I read the following in the products info for DVD2:

    --------------------------------------------------

    Multiregion fix.
As this machine is a repackaged Philips, it is easy to make multi region. Go to the Browse page with no DVD in the drive by pressing GO + 0 and enter the code. Don't wait too long between each number!

    The code is GO 159 12 12 12 005 255 GO

Watch the digits on the player's LCD display as you key them in. When finished, go to standby and the next time you turn the player on it's ready.

    --------------------------------------------------

I have a BeoVIsion 7-32 MKIII and I was wondering if the same "fix" and code can be used to make the DVD player in my BV7 region free?

Does anyone knows whether the same "fix" and code can be used the DVD player in my BV7? Or is there a similar "fix" and a different code I can apply to do the trick on my BV7?

    Your help is much appreciated.

    BR,
    Lars.

I know that the BV7 DVD-player can be made multiregion, but I was told by a dealer that he had to do it; don't know how he does. But one thing I know for sure is that you loose warranty if you do it.

There is a similar fix, however it cannot be performed with a normal Beo4. The softkey for zone change is not programmed into a Bang and Olufsen Beo4. You need a reprogrammed remote to do this, which a dealer may or may not have. The loss of warranty threat is a load of crap, all you are doing is changing a value in the dvd module, much like altering a setting in the service menu.

B&O is under pressure from the DVD consortium to not produce multi-region dvd players, and they must appear to co-operate with the rules. Most dealers offer the service to deregion the players, albeit quietly.
