Came home tonight and turned our Avant on and had a picture but just static through the speakers. Switched to the Beosound 3000 and again just static. Also tried switching speaker mode to just the Avant to just the two front speakers and still just static. Turned all off and when turned on again all worked fine. The Avant and 3000 are linked to another set of speakers in another room as well as to a computer and Beoport and speakers in another room. Any ideas why this might have occurred?

When you say "Static" through the speakers, what were you really hearing ? If you mean it sounds like an amplifier with an open input, then that could be caused by many things, but perhaps the most likely is a loss of one of the internal power lines in the AVANT which when switching off and on again reset it. The internal power lines have over-voltage and over-current protection.

Thanks! I don't really know how else to describe the sound. A cracking static sound. Should I be concerned that something is getting ready to fail permanently?
