    Beogram 1200 speed issues

Ok, so the problem is that my turntable starts reeeeeaaaally slowly. When I push start-button, first it seems like the platter wouldn't turn at all, then it starts to gain revs really slow. after some 3-5 minutes it spins as it should (well almost, with pitch turned all the way up). The "gears" (small copper/brass cone in the end of motor's shaft and large rubberwheel the cone touches) are transferring the power nice and tidy. While TT is gaining speed, if I try to help it by spinning the record by hand, it won't help, the speed falls to where it was before I touched it. To me it seems like the motor would slowly gain it's right operating voltage, like it would be charging itself. When I flip the record or change the record, next time I push start, it will gain the right speed MUCH faster, but still a bit slowly... But if I let it be for some hours then it'll be way too slow again, like some condenser's would lose voltage or something...

It seems like this guy would be having the same problem.

    Welcome to Beoworld !

Your Beogram is in need of cleaning and lubrication of the motor bearings. It's a 1-phase AC motor and it needs to be taken apart to do it right. We've seen this a couple of times before, do a search on these fora and you'll find more info.

It's a lovely deck and worth the trouble.

Hi Dillen I searched but found nothing relevant for lubrication or bearings; the search is rather disapointing because of the duplicated posts.
