    MCL 2P to my MX5000?

    Smile

I'm wondering if I can use the powerlink out socket from my North American MX5000 to connect to the MXL 2P, so I can drive some Grundig Audioramas I picked up.

I've never used a powerlink connection before.  Do they work like speaker outs, where you must connect both the left and right?  I notice that there is two powerlink sockets on the back of the tv.  Is this to drive two sets of speakers?

I also notice on the MCL 2P that there seems to be a right and left passive speaker connection.  Will I need to purchase two of these amps to drive both the right and left passive speaker?

    Confused for sure!

First, make sure that the powerlinks are activated in the setup menu on the MX

Then connect one of the TV powerlink sockets to the powerlink socket on the MCL2P with a MK2 fully wired powerlink cable. The two sockets are identical.

Now connect your left and right  passives to the L and R sockets on the MCL2P

    The MX5000 has no PowerLink.

What looks like a Powerlink socket is an AuxLinkLine Socket and the connector for the motorstand.

I believe that the N. American MX5000 was more like the European MX5500

Really? If it is more similar to the MX5500, then it could be possible. The MX5500 has two Powerlink sockets.

But why should B&O sell a MX5500 with the MX5000 badge?

You are right, in the US the MX5000 NTSC model is more or less a real MX5500 in europe... Unsure
