    Anyone know.....?

Has anyone had knowledge or experience of the DeToma A800 sub? It appears reasonably compatible with B&O  but how compatible is it?

    Price?

It isn't more compatible than any other sub on the market. DeToma B800 has RCA input connectors. So you have to buy a Powerlink to RCA cable. Specs aren't so impressive and it´s looks like sheep B&O design i think..

But if you got an old B&O stereo ho needs a little more bass i say why not... But if you got a new B&O stereo i´d go for the B&W PV1 or B&O BL2...

It does help if I get the description right You are correct its a B800.

Yes I noticed its lack of power but I thought I saw on its documents that it had 8pin Din connectors. I must admit I liked the styling on the PV1  (but just to show you that this is not about money but more about the failure of B&O dealers to come up with anything like a service) I thought at the other end of the scale the Mordaunt Short Performance 9 looked effective. Its a new market for me and so the swinging around in tatse is about me understanding what there is.

Shame you are not closer to Lee as he could give you a good demo of a BL2 in tandem with other speakers.

afaik it has a 8pin PL-input and therefore switches on an off with the system. The advantage is you don't have to deal with a mess of adapters but thats it. Design is related to individual taste.....

    Re: Anyone know.....?

I agree with that statement Peter. I have dealt with Lee and he has delivered to Cornwall, however demo's are clearly not on.

We have one B&O dealer in the County and that is a satellite of B&O Bristol. Their prices are always appear higher than those mentioned by members on Beoworld and the service is far from great. My recent dispute has been over a table stand for a BV6-26. The Truro manager wanted days to work out whether the BV6-22 stand that he provided was a 22 or 26 and also to check who was responsible (despite the fact that I have an invoice for a BV6-26 stand). I phone Bristol and accidentally spoke to one of the owners who checked the paperwork whilst I was on the phone -- said that the mistake was theirs and has ordered another.

I would have thought that my list of purchases from them (as below) over the last 8 years would have spoken for itself. Apparently not and you are as good as you next purchase not your previous ones. I am not prepared to deal on that basis -- loyalty has to be two way. If I was wrong I wouldn't even have complained but just ordered again and paid the price. I assure you and the members of Beoworld that I am a reasonable person really!

    Marcus,

Take your point thought I am not too keen on having the thing on display anyway. I was hoping that it could sit where the "centre cube" of the F1000 would sit (tucked out of the way). I am not sure that many of them are that pretty. I do notice the limitations of the DeToma but as I said it was just some basic groundwork.
