Evening All
Just hooked up my BM 8000 for the first time since I moved house, and thought I detected some interference on the left channel. As I've been using new speaker cables, I thought that perhaps I'd got the polarity wrong or not screwed the DIN connectors in all the way. Anyway, tried shifting the balance to the left channel and as I did so, I noticed a whiff of smoke from the back of the heatsink. I turned the BM off straight away, then checked all the connections and tried if it again. Ever since it's been running and playing sweetly.
Does anyone know what happened? It might have got some dust and muck in it when it was moved and sat around whilst I was decorating, but I'm worried I might have blown something acting as a fuse or failsafe and really shouldn't be using it. I'm prepared to get it seen to if poss, but am reluctant to post it anywhere due to its delicate nature and extreme weight regarding cost of postage!
Thoughts would be appreciated!
