BV9 1080p---how well does it deal with SD?

I have yet to read a review of a full HD TV wherein it's performance with SD material has not been heavily criticised.

Now that the full HD BV9 is in the hands of some (lucky) members, how does it cope with SD material, particularly off air broadcasts?

    I look forward to opinions.

    Terry.

well of course anyone who has just bought a BV9 is hardly likely to say anything other than its perfect! and to be fair most will not be able to make a comparison.

We do know that full hd panels do not display SD material as well as a hi def panel. Just for fun I disconected my BV4 D9 HD and substituted the panasonic Full HD screen and on HD the pisture looked exactly the same and on SD it was worse- thats running software 3.1 on BS3

The biggest difference seemed to be on contrast ratio where the hi def panel was far better than the full hd panel and the specs from panasonic confirm that the 1080 screen now being used by B&O has less CR than the 720 screen

I have only STB Dilog now connected with scart and I think it´s pretty good picture, even contrast

But I have no DVD at moment so I can not compare

I connected my Sony HD videocamera thru HDMI and the picture is amazing Big Smile

But as I said I am satisfied with STB picture
