I think what he means is when you scroll through call in you caller id list - missed calls have * next to caller marking it as new call and it's accompanied with blinking red light on the rear of the handset.
To reboot the phone you need to press button with round dot and keep it pressed until phone shuts down. Then press this button again to restart it.

You can also review details of your new call in order to have star and blinking light disappear.
