Are the BeoGram 5005 and 3000 bottom sections identical?

    Hi,

I still have the same problem I reported in an earlier post (see http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/123800.aspx) that I could not resolve. I plan on opening both my 5005 and 3000 right next to each other this weekend to see if I can resolve this problem. If I can't figure out what is going on, I was thinking about swapping the bottom sections between my 5005 and 3000 to help complete my BeoSystem 5000. Besides the different top sections and DIN cables, are the two completely the same electronically? Will all the functions work after this swap, or are they electronically different? Thanks.

The two are identical internally. The differences are all external - ie The shape of the dust cover and the external trim panels.
