    DVD2 vs HDR2

Now DVD2 is almost arriving in Holland, I wanna do a comparison with the HDR2: which (dis)/advantages does it have ?

In Holland the DVD2 will be cheaper than the HDR2!

The HDR2 will record using the timer from a digital source. The DVD2 will not. I would get the HDR2 and a cheap DVD-R  at present. Once the HD DVD battle is won, then I would get the B&O version. I have Sky+ as well as VCRs and a DVD/HDD recorder. I use Sky+ as it integrates perfectly with my B&O and is completely idiot proof!

Go for the HDR2 thats a proper B&O.

If you want a DVD recorder bay one you like and get a lintronic to it instead...

nothing good to say about the DVD2

    The Stig,

What do you mean by: "nothing good to say about the DVD2"?

And howcome the HDR2 is €140,- more expensive (in Holland) than the DVD2; the latter seems more complex/more hardware?

You say that, but I'm sure Rupert Murdoch can use his own products. Wink

    HDR2 is made by B&O

DVD2 is a Phillips in another case and you can only timer program it if your placed in GB

I believe it's actually a Samsung model, instead of a Philips.

You're right, it is a Philips, I was wrong. However, it's a 7300, as Peter proved in a thread a while back. All the connections are in exactly the same place, and the OSD seems very very similar.
