Yes.. Welcome Home to England! Hopefully it was insured - but still a complete pain. What network are you on? I have a Nokia handset that works with Orange you can borrow if you're stuck for a phone. Lee

That's really nice of you Lee. Alex, iPhone is really cool especially when it will have a better APN, but I am looking forward to get the vers.2. By the way, the new LG Viewty is very tempting, I have seen one in the flesh this WE but I am dying to buy the phone. All stores there, are out of stocks (SFR, Orange, etc.) Cheers, Guy

I had no idea until Van showed me! With the risk of annoying everyone, and typing this from under a table with a crash helmet on - do you have a Mac? If so, i can help you - if not i can't.. - but someone else can i'm sure! All you need after that is the ability to be awake until stupid-o'clock, and you could be a pair of A8's better off !! Lee

I can help you with the screen shot if you have a Windows PC.

It saves as a tiff, then i drag it into CS2 and save it as a jpg. Not sure if i'm doing that wrong mind you - but it works! Uploading to the forum with Safari is a waste of time. If i want to do anything it's always Firefox. Lee

Thank you for your very kind offer Lee, but I am in fact using an iPhone at the moment until I get a new Serene tomorrow morning from my dealer. I will insure it this time! Have just had my Red Bull to keep me up until silly o'clock and hope that you all fall asleep nice and early! Forgive me for any nonsense posting in the meantime. Guy, I have had LGs in the past and would seriously not recommend buying one. They have recently had some appealing phones for sale, but my advice is to resist the temptation and buy a good quality phone, from the likes of Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericson. All my LGs were bought on its design and went wrong under 6 months of use. No big problem I thought, they're still under warranty, but in each case, LG found something wrong with the phone to tell me that its fault was not covered under its warranty. Awful after sales and awful phone. Will NEVER buy one again. Beware.

You don't need to do that. Save it as a tiff. Then just click on it and it will open in Preview. You can then save it as a jpg. Takes seconds!

You can change the default screen capture file type in OS X, just type defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg into Terminal. Obviously, you can change what goes at the end. PNG is the best, as you'll end up with no image quality loss, but a very small filesize (as long as there isn't a massive variation of colours in the image).
In OS X, Command + Shift + 4 will allow you to draw a box in which the screenshot is taken, although if you press Space immediately after the initial key combination, you can take an image of individual elements on the screen, Windows, Icons etc...
Command + Shift + 3 will take a screenshot of the entire screen.

Hi Peter, But concerning the size (in octets), will you get a lighter picture ? I use the Photoshop's Save for Web option for saving Web images, because I want to keep as small in file size as possible. Guy
