    Beolink Active on iMac?

    Hi,

I am thinking about connecting my Bl6000 to a beolink active and this one to my iMac. The BL-active has the PC input.

The question is: would the Bl6000 power on when the iMac sends sound signal? Or would I need to use a remote to first switch the BL active to PC to hear the sound from Mac?

    Thanks for the support.

    1) the BeoLink Aktive has to be connected to a ML-System,

    2) You need a remote to swich to the local "PC" input of your BeoLink Aktive

    3) You need a special adapter cable - it's not standard DIN pinout

    Thanks Vienna.

One more thing: would I be able to switch on the PC Mode with the IR puck?

Sorry, not sure to understand your question completely. Confused

A BeoLink Active can only be controlled via a remote control *)
(eg Beo 4/5/6 - sending IR commands to the "IR-Eye").

To switch to the PC socket of a BeoLink Active using a BEO4
you'll have to select "PC" from your [List] and then [GO/PLAY].

    Using a BeoLink 1000 you'll have to press [SHIFT]+[STORE].

You can NOT distribute the signal of the local source (your computer)
connected to the PC input to other rooms of your ML System.

*) unless you have a ML-Gateway in your setup ...Smile

The question was more with regards to the IR puck that is connected to the BL Active. As far as I know this has buttons for on/off and/ or volume control.

I want to avoid the requirement to use a Beo4 odor hearing the Mac sound out of the BL6000. On the other hand I would like to listen Radio from my audio master in my office with the iMac.

I currently use a Beoport but want to sworn to BM1 or BM5 in future.

Yes, manual control via the "IR puck / IR-eye" only for "on/off" and/or "volume control".
Full control, eg. selecting a source only via IR-remote or a ML-GW.

Smile A Windows-PC + BeoPort Box + BeoPort Software would exactly do what you want.
... maybe the geeks from Beo-Mac can help you ...

Even when BM1 or BM5 is connected to the main TV - my choice for a home office still would
be a WIN-PC + BeoPort + BeoLabs + BeoPort SW on the desktop.

But a friend of mine uses in a similar BM5 config a MAC + BeoLink Active + Beo4 + BeoLabs
in the home office ... telling me, he prefers the devil to the deep blue see - or was it the other way 'round?
