    OT: finally movie rentals and buys on iTunes!

    OK, so this is something the US and some countries in the EU has had for a while, the US for quite some time, but iTunes has finally brought Movie downloads to Finland! And guessing most other EU countries that has had the iTunes store for music earlier.

     

    Woop woop!

     

    Can't be good for the local "blockbuster" though...

    What will a movierental cost? And are they all priced the same?

    I looked around a bit last night, and it seems most new films are 3,99 euro. Not too bad! Same as DVD rentals at my local movie rental. BD is 5,00 euro.

    But it saves me the car trip, and return hassle/forgets.

    ....or getting half way through a movie to discover you have a damaged dvd, or does this just happen to me?

    As usual... Belgium is f****d. Almost everyone has broadband Internet (up to 100Mb down)... But thanks to the duopoly of Belgacom & Telenet who both offer movies on demand on their (crappy) platform no other online movie rental is possible...

    Karel, maybe the list will need some updates in the future (Belgium AND Finnland are listed as "short movies" only).

    As bayerische wrote, Finnland has just started movie rentals.
