standby and go light hand in hand

may have a problem... my beocentre 2300 has its standby light and on light on together, have only just noticed this.

is the beocentre trying to tell me something?

I assume it's a green LED that is making you uncertain - your BeoCenter tells you "Timer has been activated"

Early BeoCenter 2300 with Ser# < 11346600 or 11491838 (depending on the market)
and SW lower than 1.3 were IR two-way capable.

    Timer-programming was only possible using a two way BeoLink 5000 / 7000.

SW 1.3 did block 2-way support and later on, from Ser#1281331 the PCBs have
also been redesigned without 2-way components.

Re: standby and go light hand in hand

wow vienna, thats a very comprehensive reply. even so its not made me any closer to sorting it out. my beocentre is the version where the lazer goes up and down as opposed to the meandering lazer. in fact im going to look at the servie invoice to get the details as i dont have time to wrench it from its perch and ascertain the type no/serial number.

ok vienna, the serial number is- 14525338, hope this helps.
