Hi fellow Beoworlders,

The DVD mech on my BC1 has died. [:'(]

I'm assuming this happens quite a bit, like the DVD1 mechs.

I have 2 questions:

1) Can anyone say from experience whether the DVD1 and the BC1 share the same mech?

2) Is there a known 'fix', or is it just a case of replacing?

If anyone has a Bc1 with a damaged tube, do you want to sell the DVD mech????

Hi Jonathan,

Seem to recall there was a recent thread where it was indicated that the radio module on the BC1 was part of the DVD unit, which would suggest that the DVD1 mechanism is different. That's not to say that a module can't be disassembled..... but that's the limit of my knowledge.
