Bang and Olufsen Beosystem 2500 and Penta Speakers

Hello everyone, I am new to this site as of today.  I currently own a Bang and Olufsen Beosystem 2500 which is similar to the overature, and I just bought some Penta Speakers.  I cannot figure out how to hook them to my Beosystem 2500.  The plugs are different, but the Penta's are powered speakers like my Beosystem needs.  Someone please help.  Maybe there is a way to change the cord on one end which plugs into the Beosystem so it will plug into the speakers.

    Please help.

You may have the Penta 1's which do not have powerlink sockets like those on the 2500. You will be able to buy a powerlink to RCA cable and connect them through the line in but you will lose the display on the pentas.

    Hi ecguy1978,

I have got some of the original 4 pin "Speakerlink" plugs in stock for mark 1 Pentas, and I can make Powerlink to Speakerlink convertors to allow your Pentas to be connected directly to your Beosystem 2500.  Please feel free to get in touch via my "Sounds Heavenly" sponsor link at the foot of this page.  These will allow you to use the Penta displays.

Apologies for not yet having these listed on my website, as they are new in stock!

    Best regards,

    Steve.

Or you can just buy the B&O 'Y' convertors that give you a PL cable connection out from the Penta's.

    Its how I do it.

Re: Bang and Olufsen Beosystem 2500 and Penta Speakers

    Hey guys,

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm having issues connecting my Penta MKI to my Beocenter 2300. I've wired up a powerlink to speaker link adapter but can't seem to get the displays to work. Using the same wiring, I the displays work perfectly with my Beomaster 4500.

Is the protocol not compatible? It's also possible my 2300 has some problems. I don't have another pair of speakers with displays to test the 2300.

    Thanks!
