It is spinning my records way faster than 33rpm and I cant seem to slow it down. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Open the deck, clean, grease and oil all moving parts, clean the switches, check connections to the PCB, check and/or change caps, and change the belt if old. When open also check the presets.

    Re: Beogram 2400

    Welcome to Beoworld !

It's a combination of a construction flaw and a worn belt, causing the electronics to accept twice the
frequency of the motor feedback than normal. If the turntable belt is slipping, the motor will
accellerate too easily, basically spinning up with the belt skating on its pulley. It will reach a
too high speed and the electronics will happily accept the double speed since it only checks for pulses
at a certain rate and doesn't care about any pulses that may come in between.
Eventually, the platter will be accellerated but that will then be to the wrong (double) speed.
There is a fix for the electronics but the easiest way to deal with the problem is to replace the belt.

You can check if the turntable belt slips easily on the motor pulley. If you rotate the subplatter back
and forth by hand, the motor pulley should follow closely and not just skid along on the belt surface.

The same problem can also happen if you press start before the platter has completely stopped
    from a previous play.
That way, the motor will be accellerated by the normal amount and that will then be added to
the speed it already has. B&O issued a fix for the electronics at some point but with normal use
and a good belt, it should not be necessary to change the electronics.
I can supply a belt if you need.

The above applies to Beogram 2200,2202,2400,2402 and some Beocenter models, f.e. 2000 and 2002.

Thanks for the info. The belts does not seem to slipping at all. How detailed is the electronics fix?

Thank you. Do you know if there is an operating manual for this? What all does working on the presets entail?

The presets or trimmers or ajustable resistors are for adjusting the speed at 33 and 45 rpm, there is a manual onsite for silver and gold members, there you will find all about ajustment and how to take the deck apart, I recommend that you, if you dont know the age, change the belt, then check the speed with a stroboscope disc, here its free, download, print, cut to size and check with a normal desklamp.

Remember to download the 50 Hz or 60 Hz as you need.

If it is consequently running too fast, it may the speed trimmers.
They can be accessed through tiny holes from underneath the deck.
Not too difficult to replace either, if you can can handle an electronics
    type soldering iron.

    Hi Martin

Can you post the electronic fix here, or send me a PM?

I had one in, and replaced the belt, but if the problem crops up again, I want to be ready.

    Thanks
