Has this been an official product or is it just homemade?

I tend to say no

This version of BEOlink1000 (MK3?) normally has printed text "LARGE" and "MIX" on the casing between the STOP-UP-PLAY and the LEFT DOWN-RIGHT keys

As it's not printed here it looks like someone polished a "normal" version.

Someone with more B&O-insider knowledge might step in...
