Registering BeoCom 5 to BeoCom 6000 MK1 MkI

I bought the BeoCom 5 today. The shop said - to register it to the existing BeoCom 6000 set up - unplug the 6000 base, give it a few seconds, plug back in and do the registration thing. That didn't work, because the BeoCom 6000 is the original, oldest version, and it doesn't work like that.

Of course the user manual is long gone. B&O don't have it on their website. I don't know if it's anywhere on the net (maybe here, but I haven't fronted up with the funds yet). But! I found another semi-related post here that said 'press the button on the base'... so I went and found a button, between the recharging pins on the base; held it down for a few seconds, the indicator light started flashing (yay!) and a minute later we were all hooked up and in business.

So I post it up here in the hope that when I need this knowledge again, I can find it on here! And maybe it will benefit somebody else here too.

BeoCom 5 sounds good so far, speaker works fine, and from a long-term user of BeoCom 6000s (home and work): they have been a truly great product.
