Lintronic Users - Role Call!
Hi guys
Just wanted to gauge how many peopel are using Lintronic devices here?
http://lintronic.dk/default.asp
Still waiting for my package to clear bloody customs, but I thought it would be a nice place to share some tips/ideas/chat in general about your setups :) And of course we can also post questions/queries collectively to the Lintronic support forum too.
So if you are a Lintronic user, raise your hand and post some more details of your setup if you wish :D
I really want an update on the iOS (iPhone/iPad) app status/solution, but it seems Michael is ignoring me on that one ;)

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
Hi there.
I have a -238 and it only has a 7 line memory map for when I enter and exit cinema mode of my bv7.
Controls my lights and Beamer.
Soon it will control curtains too.
I would like an app for my iPad that would be cool but I cannot think how the -238 would connect to the home network so it's not a big concern.
All in all I love my lintronic it does what I wanted it to do and I forget it's even there

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
Well basically it will work via a Wifi - RS232 box connected via serial to --> -238
Phone connects to wifi, sends command over RS232 to the -238 who processes command.
Cant wait for that! Michael said he would get back to me on the status of that solution.
Glad you are happy with your device, cant wait to get mine.

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
I have 2 Lintronic units and 2 expanders. However, I haven't used them for quite a few years now. While Michael at Lintronic is very prompt in resonding for support, I found 2 huge shortcomings at Lintronic:
1.) Many of the solutions are geared more toward professional installers and require more tech savy than the typical user. For example, there are some solutions that require custom-made cables that Lintronic is not willing to provide. As a tech-disadvantaged user, I don't know how to solder.
2.) Lintronic does not have as close of a relationship and cooperation with BeoWorld as I would like to see. I think the recent post from Michael encouraging people to go to the Lintronic site for forum dicussion rather than discussing Lintronic on the BeoWorld site is a good example of this. BeoWorld is a HUGE resource among B&O users. It surprises me that Michael doesn't support the BeoWorld site more and that he doesn't sponser the site for advertising of his products.
If Michael is reading this, I don't mean this to offend him. Rather, I hope it can be taken as constructive criticism.

What is an expander.
Shame about the forum support as I imagine bang and Olufsen customers are a big chunk of the buyers. I can also see why they would have their own forum also though

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
Hello,
In the main room I use 2 BV10-SCART connected 238-boxes for controlling devices not in the PUC list (XBMC Multimedia PC, Sony BDP). One for controlling BS2/JVC Beamer Combo. All in a hidden installation.
In the link room I use Lintronic to control a BeoSystem 2/Panasonic VT30 combo with local Samsung BDP and BeoMedia1.
All-in-all about 500 lines of memory maps.

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
Hi,
I have a Panasonic Plasma, SAT receiver, Sony BluRay, AppleTV, HDMI expander and a Beosound 3000(connected to the TV using a Beolink Converter). All controlled via a Beo4(the new one with joystick) and a 238. Works lika a charm. I'm especially happy to have the TV and Beosound3000 working together with the Beolink Converter.

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
I was using a version 5 Lintronic TT455-RT-238 that I borrowed from a friend. Unfortunately, he needed it back. Needless to say, it was missed so I ended up buying a version 6 Lintronic TT455-RT-238. If you have a need for it, it is a versatile rock solid device.

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
Hi,
I use a 238 to control an LG DVD player and Apple TV2 in a hidden installation via a Beo5. I wired up the external IR eye sensor, connected to the 238, myself. The sensor receives B&O commands from the Beo5 and sends them to the hidden 238. The sensor sits behind a BS3200 sitting on the cabinet top, so it can't be seen either. The Beo5 also controls a Pioneer plasma, which connects into the BS3200 A.AUX port for sound via a pair of BL6000's and a BL11.
cheers,

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
I have two 238s. Great tech. Very dependable, but can be confusing. As for Lintronic on this Forum, there used to be one. If I recall correctly all commercial contributors were asked to support Beoword via advertising to support the cost off running the site (reasonable). Lintronic apparently decided not to pay to help support Beoworld (also understandable). He is very good responding via email and on the forum on his site.

Re: Lintronic Users - Role Call!
I have one -238 to control all my non B&O equipment mentioned below in signature.
My mapping includes about 250 lines. Most of them for use with variables to allow GO+number commands.
I'm very pleased with the -238 and can highly recommend it. Much better than irtrans and definitly more flexible than linvis.
BeoSound 9000 MK III, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 11, BeoCenter 2300, BeoSound Century, BeoVision MX4000/MX7000 & BeoCom 4
