    BeoMaster 7000 kit opinions, please.

Fellow brought a euro-spec Beomaster, CD7000, and Beocord (and an AV VCR thing), all circa 1990-1992, by my store the other day. While they looked brand new in black, as soon as I hooked Beomaster to a step-up transformer, it blew the transformer fuse, twice. With such a poor start, would you think it wise to PAY service to start digging in, or is it a fool's errand and he should donate to the transplant center? Thanks. Ray.

Am also a big fan of Beosystem 7000 (Beomaster/Beogram/Beocord and BeogramCD) and love them, I would go for a repair.

Im not at all a pro on electronics BUT i would start checking if the Beomaster isnt already "converted" for 110Volt ( i suspect that you are in USA). I personally have no knowledge on this but have seen talk about converting the AV7000 (USA-only addition for Beosystem 7000) for 230V-use wich with my very small knowledge was a "re-wireing" inside the transformer. Again I dont know the techs of this.....

    Hope this helps you abit
