    beolab 11 with beolab 4000

    Hello guys,

I found no experience return on this forum about the new beolab 11.

I would like to add a little more punch to my beolab 4000 and BM7000 but I hesitate.

They have this configuration in my BO store, but there is quite no difference whith and without the beolab 11.

Does anybody have this configuration at home ?

    Thanks for your feedback

    Eric

I heard it in my dealers store and found a massive change in sound. Even my wife did and she is far from being audiophile.

The BL4000 sound much better when supported by the BL11.

    BeoVision 8-40 / BeoVision 8-32 / Beovision 6-26 / BeoSound 3200 / BeoSound 1 / BeoLab 3 /  Beolab 6000 / Beolab 2000 / Beoport / Beomedia 1 / 3* Beo4 /BeoCom 5 with VOIP

A couple months back someone reported terrible results in a store demo (I think it was Major in Japan, glad he is safe!)

Anyway, based on feedback from here he went to another store, got a totally difference experience and was sold (pun intended)

So either persuade the store to loan you a BL11 for a weekend, or find another store that understands how to configure the product

And as the other poster has replied, my wife was sold on the discernible and she normally only humours my B&O obsession

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

I have this setup currently and it's fantastic. In my ears it has a significant change. Exactly what was missing.

    Just perfect

    Best regards

The early store dem kits for Lab 11 with Lab4000 didn't work properly. I remember playing spot the difference - nigh on impossible, but then replaced the switcher unit, and now the lab 11 really adds to the 4000s!

I use the Beolab 11 with BL-3 but tried them out at home first. A thing you, as mentioned above, must do to gain a good understanding whether the BL-11 will benefit your setup & room.

After listening to a lot of different music, several movies, I was sold. The sound is much richer and it clearly helps the BL3 (much better than I expected as it is only 17 Hz. difference). I also downloaded several good MP3 files which reproduced lower tones in steps of  +/-10 Hz (up/down from/to 10 - 250 Hz). It also helps if you play around a bit with the placing of the Beolab 11.
