    Beolab 3 problem

I have owned Beolab 3's for a few years and sadly they have developed a problem. Every once in a while I hear a loud tick which is quite disturbing... Any ideas?

What are they connected to - and are you using Mk2 or Mk3 cables?

Oops I forgot to mention. They are connected to a Beomaster 7000 and I use Mk3 cables.

    I wish I could help!

    Perhaps a static discharge? Confused

Since Lee mentioned cables, maybe you should try a MK2 set and see if it changes any.

You know what, it might just be a static discharge... Is this harmful to the speakers and how can I solve this? AFAIK MK3 cables are the one to use instead of MK2...

Mk3 is correct, but to resolve buzzing -not "ticks."

What is the frequency of the ticks, or are they just random, sometimes not occurring at all?

Could it be a mobile phone, cordless phone, garage door opener, microwave oven, wireless lan bridge/repeater, telephone repeater etc. , just something you added/replaced/moved lately....?

If it is a high pitch static charge it usually hits the tweeter, the weakest part of the speaker.

I had exactly the same problem when I connected a fridge in the same circuit as my BL 3 speakers... I almost freaked out when I heard it the first time!!
