    Buying advice please!

A pair of MK1 Pentalabs has surfaced locally and the gent is looking for 250 USD.

I am not sure if the drivers have any foam rot, but I'm going to just assume that they do.

Also, the sellers confirms that one amp is "dead."

I am unaware of cosmetic condition.

Is this a realistic price? Worth getting? Maybe to use as just Pentavoxes?

    Thanks all!

    Evan

I would say that the price is OK. Even here in Denmark I haven't seen Pentalabs cheaper than that. Even if they are only gonna be used as Pentavoxes, it's okay. There is probably foam rot - but only in the mid-range units. The bass units have rubber sourrounds, so they should be fine (but you'll have to listen to them). Ofcourse they are probably gonna need new caps in the crossovers to get the best sound.
And -with speakers like these, the cosmetic condition is important. If there's lots of scratches and bulges, then... Sad

Anyway -You'll have to see them, and listen to them to judge if the price is ok...

    Thank you Steffen.

I just re-read the email and I think I may have mis-read it initially. It seems he is wanting to sell the single good amp. Whoops! Laughing

    Lets see what happens...

The faulty one's LED indicator turns yellow when a signal is applied. Easy fix?
