    Beosound 2 issues... Please Help!!!

I sold my Beosound 2 to someone in another state. It was working when sent, but since arriving at its destination the buyer is having troubles.

    These are the symptoms:

Cant seem to make it connect or play at all

I have the download etc and the unit isn't being recognised at all

Even putting mp3s on an sd card and playing doesn't work

Yes I have Beoplayer but it's just not recognising the unit at all

When I go to portable devices it's just not there

I have a downloaded manual (and a cdrom disc) but nothing

I just get 3 beeps (and the manual doesn't explain 3 beeps?)

Please help me so that I can explain to the new owner what to do... I don't want to have to have it returned as it worked for me. I don't have one in front of me to try either. The only thing I can think of is an unsuitable SD card maybe (buyer provided his own)?????

    Hi Jon

I have found that the docking station can be a little touchy.

My BS2 sometimes isn't recognised and I have to move the actual unit around on the dock. Also, the cord is a little loose so I just have to move it around a bit sometimes.

    play at all

this is my 1000th post, so I will confess that I once took my BS2 into the dealer because it was not playing ...

the sales people very kindly turned up the volume and handed back to me

ask whether mini-jack is properly in place, and explain that the large ^ is volume up and the small v is volume down

PS the 3 beeps, is the BS2 formatting the SD card to BS2 standards; it will depend on how he placed the MP3s on the card.  They must be in single level root directories but not at the highest level themselves.  Nor can there be more than one level of directories.

The directory structure should look like this (note the SD card does need not be named the way I named mine), the presence of the "Default Playlist.epl" files at each directory level will tell you and your purchaser that the BS2 is processing the file system successfully when it goes *beep* *beep* *beep*:

Firstly, thankyou both for your replies!

I got the following from the buyer:

    Dear jldmelb,

    maybe thats all it is
    no power?!

    Then:

    Jonathan

I think it was the power cable

I found one and     EVERYTHING is different

Would you believe I forgot to put in the power cord when I posted!!! So it seems this is what happens when you don't plug it in!! Embarrassed

    Thank you !

Although I feel foolish for getting the number of beeps wrong :)

I should have RTMed instead of relying on my fading memory ... maybe I had a rush of blood at the thought of cracking the 1,000 post barrier Laughing
