    beomaster 1700 caterpillar track belts

I expect there's no old stock of these anywhere?

has anyone found a suitable replacement pls?

    cheers

(school holidays means all the bits of old B&O junk are having some attention lavished on them .... as I type, my son is making a replacement drive wheel for caterpillar track with an old cotton reel and a piece of dowel .

maybe there's one of you with a scrap 1700 out there?

Interesting -maybe B&O should have designed the 1600/1700's so they could use some standard car timingbelts -they should last for 100.000 km's or more. You should really adjust the sound or tune the stations a lot to reach that many kilometers Whistle

Imagine -You´re going to your local B&O dealer to get some replacement belts. They say "Sorry, no -but try at Honda/VW/Toyota" (or whatever) Laughing

Nice to know Ben - now stop messing with our heads & tell us what car they were made for you teaseLaughing

    Chris.

PS. I have a broken belt for one of these & I've tried all manner of fixes for it with totally abject failure at every attempt. My only salvation was my good friend & a Beoworld stawart who will remain nameless as he sent me it as a favour.

I seriously can't remember Sad All I remember that it was a timing belt that they use for more than one car I think. Then again I could be wrong...not being very helpful am I. Best thing is to take the broken belt to a shop and try to match as closely as possible just remembering that the belt has to be a bit thicker than the original otherwise it will slide into the grooves on either side and go skew.

Thats all folks! Stick out tongue
