    mcl passive x-tra speakers transceiver

I am lucky enough to have inherited a B & O BeoSystem 4500 (alas, without the turntable).  I also have the full MCL passive x-tra speakers kit, and two extra passive speakers.  I began set up over the weekend, and when I tested the connections (from the relay box a blue cable is attached which ends in six bare wires, which I attached to a short cable with pin connectors to the BeoMaster), I was able to control the extra speakers with the transceiver.  A red light came on and off when I pressed it.

Well then I fed the blue cable through a hole in the wall to get the speakers in the next room and set up the relay box near the speakers. I reconnected the whole thing, and now the transceiver doesn't work.  I CAN get the passive speakers to work when I turn on the BeoMaster in the next room - then both sets of speakers turn on.

I also set up the Beolink 1000, and it works with the BeoMaster, but not with the transceiver.

Only one thing happened - I dropped the relay box while setting it up (on carpeting).  Help!

Hello, and welcome to Beoworld. Did you remove the 2 connections from the Beomaster, to feed the wire through the wall? If so make sure they are the correct way round. This is quite a common problem when connecting MCL systems.

Horray!  You were right!  Apparently the extra speakers have to be plugged into the bottom plugs on the BeoMaster.  That did it.

    Thanks soo much.
